This year, Seafair faced a unique opportunity to produce the television broadcast of Seafair Weekend entirely in-house. From ad sales to camera positioning, the non-profit organization made sure that the community treasure didn’t fall off-air, broadcasting live on KONG TV for fours hours. Being in our second contract year with them, developing the 2019 Seafair Cup TV graphics was an exciting opportunity to learn about live broadcast and sports entertainment.
The project varied from the ordinary in that the deliverables were primarily template based. Working closely with Jennery’s art director, I built over a dozen Photoshop files that were expertly constructed to be customized in real time. I utilized grouping, layers, and smart object features to protect the design integrity of files expected to be heavily manipulated. We merged the 2019 campaign assets with their overall brand to create a familiar look for Seafair fans.
